Ubisoft has another big success on its hands. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has now sold more than 3 million copies within its first week of launch. The game reached this milestone after already crossing 2 million copies sold on its first day.

The first week’s sales put the remake on par with Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. However, it is worth noting that Ubisoft previously announced Shadows had attracted over 3 million players, a figure that also included Ubisoft+ subscribers and not just direct game sales.

Ubisoft also faced criticism over the game’s paid Character and Naval Packs. Despite the backlash, these DLC packs are estimated to have generated nearly $1 million in additional revenue. This shows that optional cosmetic content continues to be a profitable part of modern game launches.

The game is also attracting a large number of active players. Its peak concurrent player count on Steam has already crossed 104,000, making it one of Ubisoft’s strongest recent PC launches.

Ubisoft has also confirmed that more content is on the way. Game director Richard Knight previously revealed that a New Game Plus mode is currently in development. While there is no release date yet, it is expected to follow a format similar to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Ubisoft has not confirmed whether it will include extra rewards for players who complete the game again.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It is also included with the Ubisoft+ subscription service.
