Amazon Games, Crystal Dynamics, and Flying Wild Hog have announced that Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will launch on February 10, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The game was originally planned for release in 2026 but has now been delayed by a few months.

The announcement also confirms a Nintendo Switch 2 version. It is the first time the game has been officially announced for Nintendo’s latest console.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a full remake of the original 1996 Tomb Raider, the game that introduced Lara Croft and helped define the action-adventure genre.

While the remake follows the same core story, the developers say it expands the narrative with new connections that link Lara’s first adventure to events from later games in the franchise. This means longtime fans can expect additional story elements beyond what was seen in the original release.

The game follows Lara Croft as she travels across the world in search of the lost secrets of Atlantis. Players will explore iconic locations including Peru, Greece, Egypt, and the mysterious Atlantean island.

One of the biggest selling points of the remake is how it reimagines memorable moments from the original game using modern technology.

According to the developers, environments have been completely rebuilt with modern visuals while retaining the atmosphere of the classic adventure. Puzzles have also been redesigned with new mechanics while staying true to their original concepts.

The developers specifically highlighted the famous T-Rex encounter, one of the most memorable moments in gaming history, saying it has been transformed into a larger cinematic set-piece.

Unlike the more action-focused Tomb Raider reboot trilogy, Legacy of Atlantis appears to place a stronger emphasis on exploration, platforming, puzzles, and discovery.

Players will use Lara’s agility, climbing abilities, and grappling hook to traverse dangerous environments. The game also includes environmental puzzles involving water manipulation, pressure plates, light reflection, and ancient mechanisms.

Combat remains part of the experience as well. Lara will have access to her iconic dual pistols along with additional unlockable weapons. Players will face wildlife, mercenaries, and various mythological creatures throughout the adventure.
