Tecno has launched the POVA 8 5G in India. The smartphone comes with a large 8000mAh battery, a 144Hz display, and the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor. It is targeted at users looking for long battery life and gaming-focused performance.
The Tecno POVA 8 5G features a 6.76-inch FHD+ IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2344 pixels resolution. The display offers up to 950 nits brightness, a 91.29% screen-to-body ratio, and a 1500Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate for a smoother gaming experience.
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor built on a 6nm process. It is paired with up to 8GB RAM and supports Memory Fusion technology for additional virtual RAM. The device comes with up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. It also has a large 14,689mm² cooling system.
The Tecno POVA 8 5G runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16. Its AI YouTube Summary feature can turn long videos into short text summaries with key highlights and timestamps. Noise Cancellation reduces background noise during calls, recordings, and online meetings for clearer voice communication. Photography is enhanced with AI LightMaster 2.0, which can automatically remove reflections, lens flares, and unwanted shadows from photos. The phone also supports uploading Live Photos directly to Instagram as Boomerang clips.
The phone comes with three years of free 256GB cloud storage. Users will also get a 3-month trial of Google AI Plus, which offers 2TB of cloud storage.
The smartphone features a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 rear camera along with a light sensor. Camera features include AI CAM, Portrait, Super Night, Panorama, Super Macro, Vlog, and Slow Motion modes. On the front, the phone packs a 13MP selfie camera with support for AI CAM, Portrait, Super Night, Wide Selfie, and Dual Video.
The device can record up to 2K 30fps videos from rear and front cameras.
Other notable features include support for 20 5G bands, IP64 dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810H durability certification, and AI noise reduction.
The smartphone packs an 8000mAh battery. Tecno bundles a 45W fast charger in the box. The company claims the battery can deliver up to 39.5 hours of calling time, 17.8 hours of internet usage, and around 11 hours of gaming.
The smartphone comes in 16 Bit White, Plasma Orange, and Terminal Green colour options.
The POVA 8 5G is priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model and the 8GB + 128GB model costs Rs. 31,999. It will be available from Flipkart and at leading retail stores across India starting from June 18th.
