Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics have released Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration for Nintendo Switch 2. The game is now available digitally through the Nintendo eShop. To celebrate the launch, players can purchase the game for $26.99 with a 10 percent discount until June 23. After the promotional period ends, the price will increase to $29.99.
Rise of the Tomb Raider originally launched for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 10, 2015. It later arrived on PC in January 2016 and PlayStation 4 in October 2016. More than a decade later, Nintendo Switch 2 owners can now experience Lara Croft’s acclaimed adventure on the new console.
In Rise of the Tomb Raider, players follow Lara Croft on her first major tomb-raiding expedition. The story takes her to the harsh wilderness of Siberia in search of the lost city of Kitezh. Along the way, she must uncover ancient secrets while facing the powerful organization known as Trinity.
The game features a story-driven adventure packed with exploration, puzzle-solving, combat, and survival elements. Players will explore dangerous environments, solve challenging tomb puzzles, and uncover hidden relics protected by ancient traps.
Combat plays an important role in the experience. Lara can use a variety of weapons and equipment crafted from resources gathered during her journey. Players can choose between direct combat and stealth-based approaches to overcome enemies.
The game also includes survival mechanics, which allow players to collect resources, upgrade skills, improve weapons, and craft specialized ammunition. These upgrades help Lara survive both hostile enemies and the unforgiving environment.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version includes all downloadable content released for the game. This includes story expansions such as Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, Cold Darkness Awakened, Blood Ties, Lara’s Nightmare, Endurance Mode, and Co-Op Endurance.
Players will also receive all previously released bonus content, including eight DLC outfits, seven DLC weapons, 35 expansion cards, the Extreme Survivor difficulty mode, five classic Lara skins, and the Tomb Raider III-inspired Antarctica Outfit.
