Xiaomi has launched the REDMI Turbo 5 in India. The new smartphone brings several flagship-grade features, including a large AMOLED display, MediaTek’s new Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor, IP69K water resistance, and a massive 7540mAh battery.
The REDMI Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3500 nits peak brightness. The display uses M10 luminescent material and also supports Dolby Vision, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
The smartphone is powered by the Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset built on a 4nm process. Xiaomi claims the processor can achieve an AnTuTu score of over 2 million. The phone is paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. To keep temperatures under control, the company has equipped the device with a 3D Ice Loop cooling system featuring a 5300mm² vapor chamber.
The REDMI Turbo 5 runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out of the box. Xiaomi has promised four years of Android OS updates and six years of security updates for the device.
The REDMI Turbo 5 has a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 primary sensor with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. On the front, it gets a 20-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone comes with a metal frame and a glass back panel. It also features dynamic RGB lighting around the rear camera module, which Xiaomi calls the REDMI Pixel Matrix. The device offers IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
Other features include stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, an infrared sensor, and support for NavIC positioning.
The smartphone packs a large 7540mAh battery. It supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging. The phone is also compatible with the 100W PPS fast charging standard.
The REDMI Turbo 5 comes in Asphalt Black, Nitro Blue, and Turbo White colour options. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 37,999, while the 12GB RAM and 256GB model costs Rs. 40,999.
The smartphone will go on sale starting June 19 through Amazon, Mi.com, and offline retail stores. Launch offers include up to Rs. 2,000 instant discount with SBI, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank cards, up to nine months of no-cost EMI, and up to 60% assured buyback value.
