Paytm has introduced a new feature that allows users to add labels to UPI AutoPay mandates, making it easier to identify and manage recurring payments within the Paytm app.

The feature is designed to address a common issue faced by users who have multiple subscriptions linked to the same merchant or payment aggregator. In many cases, recurring payments for different services appear under a single merchant name. This makes it difficult to identify the purpose of individual deductions.

For example, subscriptions such as cloud storage, streaming services, or AI tools purchased through an app store may all appear under a common merchant name. This can make it challenging for users to determine which service a particular recurring payment is associated with.

With the new update, users can assign custom labels to their UPI automatic payments. These labels will be displayed within the Automatic Payments section of the Paytm app, helping users distinguish between different recurring payments and track them more easily.

According to the company, the feature could also reduce the chances of users accidentally cancelling the wrong subscription when multiple recurring payments are linked to the same merchant.

To use the feature, users need to open the Automatic Payments section in the Paytm app, select a recurring payment, and assign either a suggested label or a custom name. The label will then appear in the payment listing and details screen.

Recurring payments through UPI have grown steadily in recent years as consumers increasingly rely on subscription-based services across entertainment, productivity, cloud storage, and other categories. As a result, tools that improve visibility and control over these payments are becoming more relevant for users managing multiple subscriptions.

The new feature is now available within the Paytm app for UPI AutoPay mandates.
