Netflix and FIFA have announced a new football game called FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition. The game will be released exclusively on Netflix Games ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026. It will be available at no extra cost for Netflix subscribers.
The game will launch on June 11, the same day the FIFA World Cup 2026 begins. It is designed as a simple and accessible football experience for all types of players. FIFA said the aim is to make it easy for both casual and regular gamers to enjoy the tournament in digital form.
FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition will include all 48 national teams taking part in the tournament. Players can choose any team and play across all 16 official stadiums. The game will also feature more than 1,200 real players.
The gameplay is built for easy access. Users can play it on supported smart TVs and use their mobile phones as controllers. A QR code is scanned to connect the phone, and then the phone is used for passing, shooting, and movement.
The game also supports local multiplayer. Up to four players can play together in the same match, which makes it more social and party-friendly.
The title will be available on Netflix Games and does not need any separate purchase or subscription beyond Netflix.
