Apple has confirmed the list of Apple Watch models that will be eligible for the upcoming watchOS 27 update. The new software was announced at WWDC 2026 and brings several improvements, including better battery efficiency, more accurate step tracking, improved Wi-Fi connectivity, new Smart Stack features, and enhancements to Wallet and Fitness experiences.
However, not every Apple Watch will be able to run the new update.
According to Apple, watchOS 27 will be available on the latest generation of Apple Watch models. This means users with older devices may have to continue using the current version of watchOS.
Apple Watch Models Compatible with watchOS 27
The following Apple Watch models will support watchOS 27 when it rolls out later this year:
- Apple Watch Ultra 3
- Apple Watch Series 11
- Apple Watch SE 3
- Apple Watch Series 10
- Apple Watch Ultra 2
The compatibility list shows that Apple is focusing watchOS 27 on its newest smartwatch lineup. Models released before the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Apple Watch Series 10 are not included in the supported devices list.
Apple is currently making watchOS 27 available to developers for testing. A public beta is expected in the coming months, while the stable version is scheduled to roll out later this year alongside the company’s latest software releases.
