Valve has removed a horror game from Steam after reports claimed the game contained malware capable of stealing user data.

The game, called Beyond The Dark, was a free-to-play horror title released on Steam in December 2024. The game appeared normal and had received “Mixed” reviews from users on the platform.

The issue came to light after YouTuber Eric Parker reported that the game allegedly included malicious software hidden inside its files. According to Parker, the malware could steal sensitive information from users who installed the game.

After the report gained attention, Valve quietly removed Beyond The Dark from Steam. However, the company has not released any official statement explaining the reason behind the removal or confirming the malware allegations.

This incident highlights the risks of downloading unknown or poorly verified software, even from trusted platforms like Steam. While Steam remains one of the safest and most popular PC gaming stores, users still need to take extra care. Sometimes, harmful software can slip through moderation checks.

Users who installed the game are advised to run a full antivirus scan, change important passwords, and monitor their accounts for suspicious activity.
