OPPO has officially introduced the Reno16 series in China. The new lineup includes the OPPO Reno16 and Reno16 Pro. It brings upgrades in design, battery capacity, camera hardware, and AI-powered features.

The Reno16 series continues OPPO’s focus on slim designs and portrait photography while also adding larger batteries and new productivity tools powered by AI.

The OPPO Reno16 features a compact 6.32-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Reno16 Pro comes with a larger 6.78-inch flat OLED panel with the same 1.5K resolution and adaptive refresh rate support from 1Hz to 120Hz. Both phones support up to 3600 nits peak brightness and use OPPO Crystal Shield Glass protection.

OPPO has used different MediaTek processors for the two models. The Reno16 is powered by the Dimensity 8550 SUPER chipset, while the Reno16 Pro gets the more powerful 3nm Dimensity 9500s processor. Both phones include LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

Both phones run Android 16 with ColorOS 16 out of the box. OPPO has also added a dedicated AI button that can quickly activate features such as AI-generated notes, content extraction, and itinerary creation.

Both phones feature a triple rear camera system with a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. The Reno16 Pro also includes a micro-gimbal stabilization structure for improved image stabilization. On the front, both phones use a 50MP selfie camera with support for 4K 60fps video recording.

The company has also introduced new camera software features, including a Natural Tone engine for portraits and support for Live Photos across all cameras. Users can also combine multiple photos using the new “Live Photo Sticker” feature.

The phones also come with stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint sensors, IP66, IP68, and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings, and support for 5G connectivity.

The Reno16 packs a 6700mAh battery with 80W fast charging, while the Reno16 Pro gets a larger 7000mAh battery with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.

Both devices feature a glass back and metal frame. The “Starry Night” color variant introduces a special 3D optical finish on the rear panel. The Reno16 is available in Starry Night, Galaxy Purple, and Midnight Black colors, while the Reno16 Pro comes in Starry Night, Dream Blue, and Midnight Black.

Alongside the smartphones, OPPO also announced the OPPO Bubble accessory. It is a lightweight selfie display accessory that supports remote shooting from up to 10 meters away and can also work as a customizable phone accessory or bag charm.
