After several teasers over the past few days, Motorola has officially confirmed the launch date of the upcoming Edge 70 Pro+ in India. The smartphone will launch on June 4 and will be available through Motorola India, Flipkart, and leading retail stores across the country.
The company is positioning the Edge 70 Pro+ as a premium flagship smartphone with a strong focus on design, materials, and camera performance.
The phone will come with a redesigned periscope camera system. Motorola says the Edge 70 Pro+ features the category’s thinnest 50MP periscope telephoto camera. Periscope lenses usually make phones bulky because of the internal lens arrangement, but Motorola claims to have reduced the thickness while still offering advanced zoom capabilities.
The periscope camera supports up to 50x AI Super Zoom Pro with moto AI enhancements. The company says the system is designed to maintain better stability and clarity even at higher zoom levels. The telephoto lens uses an 85mm focal length with Optical Image Stabilization, which should also help improve portrait photography.
The phone will also include a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 primary sensor. Motorola says the sensor is optimized for both bright daylight conditions and low-light photography.
Apart from the camera hardware, Motorola is heavily focusing on the design of the smartphone. The company has partnered with Pantone to introduce three different textured finishes for the phone.
The Satin-Luxe Finish comes in a deep Pantone Zinfandel shade with a matte texture. The Twill-Inspired Finish arrives in Pantone Blue Surf and features a fabric-like pattern. Motorola will also offer a Sculpted Wood Finish in Pantone Wood Gold with a wood-grain style texture.
The smartphone will continue to feature Motorola’s signature quad-curved display design with slim bezels and curved edges.
Leaks and reports suggest the Edge 70 Pro+ could feature a 6.7-inch or 6.8-inch 1.5K quad-curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone is also expected to support TurboPower wired and wireless charging.
Motorola has not yet revealed the official pricing of the smartphone. The company is expected to announce complete specifications, pricing, and availability details during the launch event next week.
