Prophecy Games has officially announced Deadzone: Rogue 2, the sequel to its sci-fi roguelite first-person shooter Deadzone: Rogue. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC via Steam. The studio has not announced a release date yet, but confirmed that a demo will arrive soon.

According to Prophecy Games, the original Deadzone: Rogue attracted more than half a million players and received “Very Positive” reviews on Steam.

Deadzone: Rogue 2 continues the story of Talon 13-10 in a futuristic world where Earth has fallen to machines controlled by Monarch. Players will fight through dangerous environments filled with biomechanical enemies, massive bosses, and hostile patrols.

The game combines fast-paced first-person shooting with roguelite mechanics. This means every run will be different, with players constantly unlocking upgrades, abilities, and new combat builds after each death.

Prophecy Games says players can combine weapons, augments, perks, and elemental abilities to create powerful builds. The game includes over 30 elemental weapons that can freeze enemies, electrify targets, create chain-lightning attacks, or even send enemies into the void.

The sequel also supports solo gameplay as well as up to three-player co-op multiplayer.

Players will be able to customize their playstyles heavily. Some builds may focus on stealth and precision shooting, while others may turn players into aggressive close-range fighters with fire-based abilities and heavy weapons.

Like many roguelite games, death is part of progression in Deadzone: Rogue 2. Players become stronger after each failed run through permanent upgrades and new abilities unlocked over time.

From the gameplay details revealed so far, Deadzone: Rogue 2 appears heavily inspired by games like DOOM Eternal, Returnal, Risk of Rain 2, and Borderlands 3 because of its fast movement, build-focused gameplay, and chaotic combat systems.

The game also seems to lean heavily into replayability. With randomized upgrades, multiple combat styles, co-op support, and evolving builds, players are expected to experiment with different strategies across repeated runs.
