WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new optional paid subscription called WhatsApp Plus. It is said to be rolling out for some Android and iOS beta users. The new plan is not official yet, but early reports suggest what it could offer and how much it may cost.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Plus could be priced at 2.49 Euros per month, which is around Rs 300. Users may also get a free one-month trial at the start. This would let users try the features before paying.

The subscription is mainly focused on customisation and extra chat features. It is still unclear when Meta will officially announce it or which countries will get it first, including India.

The biggest focus of WhatsApp Plus seems to be making the app more personal.

One of the key additions is premium sticker packs. These could include both static and animated stickers. Even users without a subscription will be able to see these stickers in chats, but only paid users may get access to the full collection.

WhatsApp Plus

Another major change is deeper customisation of the app. WhatsApp Plus users may be able to change themes, accent colours, and even app icons. Reports suggest there could be 18 colour options, including shades like Royal Purple, Forest Green, Teal, Coral Orange, and Sunset Orange.

WhatsApp Plus

Along with this, WhatsApp may also offer up to 15 new app icons. These changes could also affect the look of menus, buttons, and chat screens, giving the app a more personalised feel.

WhatsApp Plus

WhatsApp Plus may also improve chat management. Right now, users can pin only 3 chats. With the paid plan, this limit could increase to around 20 pinned chats. This will help users keep more important conversations at the top.

WhatsApp Plus

There may also be new ringtones for calls. Reports suggest 10 exclusive tones such as Flutter, Tempo, Ripple, Quest, and Carnival. These would help users set custom call alerts.

WhatsApp Plus

Another expected feature is improved chat lists. This could work like custom chat filters, making it easier to organise conversations.

WhatsApp Plus

Even though these features are being tested, WhatsApp has not officially confirmed WhatsApp Plus yet. Pricing and features may also change before launch. It is also not clear if WhatsApp will offer different subscription tiers or keep a single plan. Availability in regions like India is also unknown.

If this plan goes live, WhatsApp could move some features behind a paywall. Reports also suggest that ads may play a bigger role in the future WhatsApp experience.
