LEVEL-5 has announced a remake of Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold, now titled Snack World: Reloaded. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, though a release date has not been confirmed yet. The announcement was made during the LEVEL-5 Vision 2026 event.
LEVEL-5 CEO Akihiro Hino said the remake includes major updates across gameplay, controls, and story.
According to him, the changes are significant enough that the game “almost feels like a brand-new title.” This suggests the remake is more than just a visual upgrade.
The game will feature enhanced graphics designed to create a more immersive world. LEVEL-5 describes it as a “diorama-like” experience, aiming for a detailed and stylized visual presentation.
This should make the world feel more alive compared to the original version.
Players will now be able to experience the story from the perspective of Chup, the main character from the anime. This adds a fresh way to explore the narrative, even for players who have already played the original game.
With updated mechanics, improved controls, and a new story angle, Snack World: Reloaded is being positioned as a full-scale remake.
It is also notable that the game is planned for multiple platforms, including the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, which shows LEVEL-5’s focus on reaching a wider audience.
It is important to understand that Snack World was never one of LEVEL-5’s biggest global hits. But it has a loyal fan base. So, the remake could help the series reach new players with modern visuals and gameplay improvements.
