Xiaomi has confirmed the launch date of a new gaming-focused smartphone, the Redmi K90 Max. The device will launch in China on April 21 at 7 PM local time. Pre-orders for the phone are already live on Chinese e-commerce platforms.

The Redmi K90 Max is designed for gamers and power users. It will feature a large 6.83-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate will offer very smooth visuals. The screen is also expected to reach up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, which should help with outdoor visibility.

While Xiaomi has not revealed full specifications yet, leaks suggest the phone could be powered by a Dimensity 9500 processor along with a D2 discrete graphics chip. The phone is also expected to feature a dual rear camera setup.

The phone will also feature a built-in active cooling fan. Xiaomi says the 18.1mm fan can reduce the phone’s temperature by up to 10°C within 100 seconds during heavy gaming sessions. This could help maintain performance for longer periods.

The device also comes with strong durability features. It is rated IP66, IP68, and IP69 for dust and water resistance. The phone has an aluminum alloy frame and has been shown in a Space Silver color option in teaser images.

Redmi K90 Max is clearly aimed at mobile gamers, so we are already excited. More details about the device, including pricing and availability, are expected at the launch event on April 21.
