Xiaomi has launched the latest budget 4G smartphone, Redmi A7 and Redmi A7 Pro, in India. The new devices focus on bigger batteries, smoother displays, and updated software.

Both phones have a slim design with a thickness of around 8.2 mm. The Redmi A7 weighs 193g, while the A7 Pro is slightly heavier at 208g. The Redmi A7 comes in Black and Sky Blue colour options. The Redmi A7 Pro is available in Black and Orange. Both models also feature IP52 dust and splash resistance.

Both smartphones come with large HD+ displays. The Redmi A7 features a 6.88-inch screen, while the A7 Pro gets a slightly bigger 6.9-inch display. Both panels support a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate for smoother scrolling and gaming.

The brightness levels differ slightly between the two models. The A7 reaches up to 600 nits, while the A7 Pro goes up to 800 nits.

Xiaomi has also added Wet Touch Technology 2.0, which helps the screen respond even when fingers are wet, oily, or soapy. For eye protection, both devices include DC dimming, while the Pro model also comes with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly certifications.

These phones are powered by the octa-core UNISOC T7250 processor built on a 12nm process, paired with Mali-G57 MP1 GPU. They come with 3GB or 4GB LPDDR4X RAM, along with up to 4GB virtual RAM support. Storage is 64GB UFS 2.2, and it can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card.

The Redmi A7 runs Android 15 with HyperOS 2 on top. The Redmi A7 Pro gets Android 16 with HyperOS 3.

The new HyperOS 3 brings several smart features. It includes Google Gemini integration and Circle to Search with Google. Xiaomi also adds HyperIsland for multitasking and Interconnectivity features for better device syncing within the Xiaomi ecosystem.

Both phones use a simple dual rear camera setup with a 13MP primary sensor and an additional secondary lens. The main camera supports HDR+ and Night Mode. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with beauty filters and Night Mode support.

Xiaomi also includes software tools like AI Sky for automatic sky replacement and Document Mode for scanning papers, receipts, and documents.

Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BDS. The phones also include a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, bottom speaker, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Redmi A7 comes with a 5,200mAh battery, while the A7 Pro packs a larger 6,300mAh battery. Both support 15W fast charging.

The Redmi A7 starts at Rs 10,999, while the Redmi A7 Pro is priced at Rs 11,499 for a limited period offer. Both phones will be available starting April 24 through mi.com, Flipkart, and offline retail stores.

These phones target users looking for affordable but feature-packed smartphones in the budget segment. It is important to note that these phones don’t offer 5G connectivity. These phones focus more on battery, display smoothness, and software upgrades.
