POCO has introduced the new POCO M8s 5G, a smartphone designed for users who want long battery life and a large display. The device brings a mix of hardware upgrades and software features, including Google’s latest AI tools. It also shares many similarities with the POCO M7 Plus 5G.
The POCO M8s 5G features a big 6.9-inch FHD+ display with a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. This should offer smoother scrolling. The display also supports Wet Touch Technology 2.0, which helps maintain touch accuracy even when the screen or hands are wet. For eye protection, it comes with triple TÜV Rheinland certifications to reduce strain during long usage.
It has a quad-curved back with a metal-crafted camera module. It is also IP64 rated for dust and water resistance. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. It is designed to handle daily tasks and moderate gaming without issues. It comes with 3GB or 4GB LPDDR4X RAM. The phone also supports up to 16GB of memory extension. It has 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 internal storage, which is expandable storage up to 2TB via microSD card.
It runs on Android 15 with Xiaomi HyperOS. The device also includes Google Gemini and Circle to Search, bringing AI features directly into the system.
The POCO M8s 5G comes with a 50MP AI dual rear camera setup. It includes features like AI Erase and AI Sky, allowing users to edit photos directly on the phone. On the front, the device has an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.
The POCO M8s 5G includes support for 5G bands, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. It also comes with an infrared sensor.
The biggest highlight of the phone is its 7,000mAh battery. POCO claims it can last up to two days on a single charge. It is rated to retain more than 80 percent capacity even after 1,600 charge cycles. Even at 1 percent battery, the phone can offer up to 59 minutes of calling or around 7.5 hours of standby time.
