OnePlus has launched the OnePlus Nord 6 in India, as promised. The new Nord series smartphone is designed for gamers and power users who focus on performance, display quality, and battery life. The device brings several upgrades over its predecessor OnePlus Nord 5.
OnePlus Nord 6 features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with up to 165Hz refresh rate. The display offers up to 1800 nits brightness in high brightness mode and up to 3600 nits peak brightness for HDR content. It also supports 3840Hz PWM dimming for better eye comfort. Aqua Touch 2.0 helps maintain touch accuracy even with wet hands.
It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. The company is clearly targeting mobile gamers, claiming support for up to 165FPS gameplay in titles like BGMI, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Free Fire MAX.
The device also incudes Edge Tech. This includes a 3200Hz touch sampling rate for faster response, a 6-axis gyroscope for better aiming, and a custom Touch Reflex Chip. The phone also includes Spatial Audio Booster to enhance in-game audio. The company says the device has scored over 2.5 million on AnTuTu benchmarks.
The phone runs on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. OnePlus has promised 4 major Android updates and 6 years of security updates.
OnePlus has added several AI-powered features to the device. These include AI Eraser, AI Unblur, AI Perfect Shot, and AI Reflection Remover. A new feature called AI Mind Space acts as a central place to store and organize user data. It is integrated with Google Gemini to provide personalized suggestions. Other AI tools include real-time call translation, AI Writer, and AI Scanner.
OnePlus Nord 6 features a 50MP Sony main sensor with optical image stabilization. It also has a 32MP front camera. The phone supports 4K video recording at 60fps.
Connectivity options are 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7 802.11 be (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC, NFC, and USB Type-C USB 2.0. The phone includes dedicated G2 Wi-Fi chip for stable performance in crowded networks and supports advanced 5G connectivity.
The device packs a 9000mAh battery. It uses silicon-carbon technology to increase capacity without making the phone too thick. The phone supports 80W fast charging, which can fully charge the device in around 70 minutes. It also supports 27W reverse wired charging. There is also bypass charging support to reduce heat during heavy usage like gaming.
The phone comes with Crystal Guard Glass protection and has multiple durability certifications including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. It also meets MIL-STD-810H standards for durability.
Pricing and availability
The OnePlus Nord 6 starts at Rs. 38,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model. The 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs. 41,999.
The phone will be available starting April 9th at 12PM via OnePlus online store, app, Amazon India, and offline retail stores.
