PC gamers have another chance to grab free games, this time from itch.io. As part of a limited-time Easter promotion, two indie horror titles are now available at no cost. Players can claim BigSmile: The Message and Sleep Demon for free until April 7. Once downloaded, both games can be kept forever.

It is important to note that both games are DRM-free. You do not need any launcher or client to run them. After downloading, you can simply install and play them on your PC. This is one of the reasons why itch.io remains popular among indie developers and players who prefer simple, direct access to games.

BigSmile: The Message is more like a visual novel. It focuses on storytelling, atmosphere, and player choices. The game is developed by RamoseTsimbina and continues the story from an earlier title called KryptoUwU, which is also available for free on itch.io.

The story puts you in the role of a livestream viewer who witnesses a disturbing crime. You then hire a hacker to track down the person responsible. This leads you into a dark and unsettling part of the internet, where things only get worse.

The game uses a simple 1-bit pixel art style, but it still manages to create a strong horror atmosphere. It also includes original music, multiple endings, and dynamic elements like randomized chat names to make each playthrough feel slightly different.

On the other hand, Sleep Demon follows a more traditional indie horror approach. It leans towards a short, atmospheric experience that focuses on tension and psychological fear rather than complex gameplay systems.

To get these games, you need to visit itch.io, create an account, and click on the download or claim option. Once done, the games are yours permanently.

This offer will end on April 7, so there is not much time to grab both titles. While these games were already low-priced, making them free will help them reach a wider audience.
