Meta has started rolling out a new feature on Instagram that allows users to edit their comments after posting. This is something users have been asking for, especially when dealing with typos or quick corrections.
However, there is a limit. You can only edit a comment within 15 minutes of posting it. After that, the option disappears.

The editing process is simple. Just tap on the “Edit” option under your comment, make the changes, and then save it using the check mark button. You can edit the same comment multiple times within that 15-minute window, which gives users enough flexibility to fix or improve what they wrote.
This feature works only for comments posted from your own account. You cannot edit someone else’s comments, which is expected.
Interestingly, this update follows a similar approach Meta introduced for messages. Back in 2024, the company added message editing to Instagram, more than a decade after direct messaging first launched in 2013.
Comments have also become more important on Instagram over time. They now appear across different parts of the app, including Stories. So, giving users control to edit them makes sense.
