indie.io has announced a new subscription service called Indie Pass. The service is set to launch on April 13 and will focus entirely on indie games.
The service will start at $7 per month and is expected to offer access to more than 70 games at launch. The company has also confirmed that the catalog will continue to grow over time with more titles being added regularly.
At launch, Indie Pass will include a mix of indie titles across different genres. Some of the early confirmed games include Echoes of the Plum Grove, Air Hares, and Dark Deity.
According to the company, the platform will feature a “constantly evolving catalog.” Since indie.io is already involved in publishing and managing indie games, it is expected to keep adding new titles to the service on a regular basis.
Unlike services such as Xbox Game Pass, which include a mix of AAA and indie titles, Indie Pass is designed specifically for indie games. This gives smaller developers a dedicated platform where their games can reach more players.
The company is also working on onboarding more indie developers and publishers. It plans to announce additional partnerships in the coming weeks, which could expand the library further.
Indie Pass will be available on PC at launch. While there is no official confirmation about support for other devices, the service may work on handheld PCs like the Steam Deck through compatibility tools.
As with most subscription-based services, access to games will remain active only while the subscription is active. Players will not own the games permanently unless they are purchased separately.
