Xiaomi has officially launched its first Bluetooth tracking tag, the Xiaomi Tag, as a global product, which was officially revealed at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona. It is designed to help users locate lost items like keys, wallets, bags, and luggage, while offering wide compatibility and aggressive pricing compared with established rivals like the Apple AirTag and Samsung SmartTag.

The Xiaomi Tag has a compact and lightweight design. It weighs about 10 grams and measures roughly 46.5 × 31 × 7.2 mm. So, it is slim enough to carry easily in a pocket or attach to personal items. The body features a built‑in metal frame and a sturdy hanging loop for attaching to keyrings or bags without needing a case. Its exterior has IP67 dust and water resistance. So, it can withstand exposure to light rain, dust, and splashes.

The device combines practical tracking functions with long battery life. It supports Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) version 5.4, which enables it to communicate with nearby devices for location updates and proximity finding. It also includes NFC technology, which can be used to display contact information in Lost Mode when tapped with a compatible phone.

The most notable option is that it supports both Apple Find My and Google Find Hub. Users choose one network during setup because it cannot operate on both networks at the same time.

The can be used for Item Location Updates. It emits secure Bluetooth signals and is compatible with nearby devices in the chosen network relay its location so you can see the current or last‑seen position in the corresponding app.

The tracker includes a small piezoelectric speaker. You can trigger an audible alert from your phone when the tag is nearby to help locate it by sound.

It also supports Lost Mode. So, you can mark a tagged item as lost and add your contact details. On Google Find Hub, a nearby Android phone will show the owner information as a pop‑up. On Apple Find My, someone can tap the tag with an NFC‑enabled iPhone or iPad to view the information.

It also features Left‑Behind Alerts. The app can notify you when a tagged item is left behind at a location you define as frequent. This helps prevent forgetting personal belongings unintentionally.

Another important highlight is Privacy and Anti‑Tracking Protection. The tag uses encrypted communication to protect user location data and prevent unauthorized tracking. Some protocols also issue alerts if an unknown tag is detected moving with you, depending on the tracking network.

How It Works

To use the Xiaomi Tag, you pair it with either an Apple or Android device. During setup, you choose which tracking network to link with based on your device ecosystem. The tag broadcasts a secure Bluetooth signal, which can be picked up by nearby compatible devices on the chosen network. These devices relay the tag’s location back to you through the respective Find My or Find Hub app.

When the tagged item is nearby, you can play a sound using your phone to help locate it by ear. If it is farther away, the networked devices help update its last known location in the app automatically.

Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi Tag is priced to be very competitive in the global tracker market. In Europe, a single tag costs around €14.99, and a four‑pack sells for about €49.99. In the UK, similar pricing applies with individual units around £12.99 and four‑packs at £44.99. Availability currently includes Europe, Malaysia, Thailand, and other regions following its official launch.
