Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17, in India. The phone was introduced globally at Mobile World Congress 2026 last week, and the company has now brought it to the Indian market as promised. The Xiaomi 17 focuses on performance, camera capabilities, and fast charging. It comes with the latest Snapdragon flagship processor, Leica tuned cameras, and a bright OLED display.
The Xiaomi 17 features a 6.3 inch 1.5K OLED flat M10 LTPO display with a 1Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The panel offers ultra narrow 1.18mm bezels and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The display can reach up to 3500 nits peak brightness, making it easier to use the phone outdoors. It also supports 1920Hz PWM dimming and DC dimming for improved eye comfort.
The phone is protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass and has a compact design with a 191g weight and 8.06mm thickness. The device also has an IP68 rating, making it resistant to dust and water.
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, built on a 3nm process. The chipset is paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. To keep the device cool during heavy use, Xiaomi has added a 3D IceLoop VC cooling system.
The phone runs Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3, offering improved performance and system optimization.
The Xiaomi 17 comes with a triple rear camera setup, all using Leica Summilux lenses.
The camera system includes:
- 50MP main camera with 1/1.31-inch Light Fusion 950 sensor and f/1.67 aperture
- 50MP ultra wide camera with 102 degree field of view
- 50MP telephoto camera with 2.6x optical zoom and OIS
The phone also supports 8K video recording. For selfies, the device features a 50MP front camera capable of recording 4K video at 60fps. The camera system is powered by Xiaomi AISP 2.0 computational photography platform, which improves image processing and low light performance.
For security, the phone includes an in display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and face unlock. The smartphone features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio support. Xiaomi has also added a four microphone array for better audio recording. The Xiaomi 17 offers a wide range of connectivity options including 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB Type C 3.2 Gen 1, NavIC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou.
The Xiaomi 17 packs a 6330mAh battery, which is larger than most flagship phones in this segment. It supports: 100W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, Magnetic charging, and 22.5W wired and wireless reverse charging. The phone also supports PPS charging.
