THQ Nordic and Nine Rocks Games have confirmed that Way of the Hunter 2 will not remain a PC-only title. The game is now also planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, with those versions arriving alongside the full release.
For now, the game has launched in Early Access on PC via Steam, marking the first time players can try it. It is priced at $29.99, with a limited-time discount dropping the price to $23.99 until April 9.
Earlier, the sequel was expected to focus only on PC, at least in its early phase. With this announcement, console players now have clarity that they will not miss out, though they will have to wait for the finished version instead of Early Access.
The Early Access release is aimed at building the game with community feedback. The current version is fully playable and already offers a large open-world map set in the Canadian wilderness, along with a variety of animals to hunt.
The sequel builds on realism and adds more depth to the hunting experience. One of the notable additions is a hunting dog that helps track animals and follow trails. So, hunts feel more dynamic.
There is also an improved shot analysis system that lets players review bullet trajectory and accuracy in detail. This is clearly designed for players who prefer a more technical and simulation-driven experience.
Players also get access to a range of weapons and tools, including rifles, bows, and hunting gear like decoys and blinds. Features like vehicles and fast travel points are already part of the Early Access build.
The developers have made it clear that this is just the starting point. The game will continue to evolve based on player feedback, with more updates and content planned over time.
