Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is getting a remake. The new game will be called Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced. Fans have been waiting for this for years since the original 2013 game is one of the most loved Assassin’s Creed titles.
Ubisoft shared some concept art showing Edward Kenway on a pirate ship, but not much else is revealed. The remake is expected to have big upgrades in visuals and gameplay, similar to last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. Rumors say it might remove the modern-day sections and focus only on pirate-era action.
Ubisoft has not shared a release date yet. But the company said a new game will come before the end of the next financial year on March 31, 2027. It could be Black Flag Resynced. Some reports say Ubisoft may release it sooner because it has been in development for years.
The remake will likely come to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Fans also expect next-gen features like 4K visuals, better frame rates, and improved naval battles.
The remake comes with changes in the team. Clint Hocking, who worked on recent Assassin’s Creed games, left Ubisoft after 20 years. He is replaced by Jean Guedson, who was the creative director for the original Black Flag. This could help the remake keep the feel of the first game while improving it for modern hardware.
Black Flag is famous for its open-world naval gameplay, pirate story, and Edward Kenway. Fans are excited to see it updated with modern graphics and smoother gameplay. Removing modern-day segments could make the story feel more focused on pirates, which many players want.
If Ubisoft delivers on visuals, gameplay, and next-gen features, Black Flag Resynced could be the best version of the game. With Guedson returning and modern technology, it could bring the original adventure to both new players and longtime fans.
