GSC Game World has confirmed that the “Cost of Hope” expansion for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will launch this summer. The DLC promises dozens of hours of new gameplay, new regions to explore, and fresh challenges for fans of the post-apocalyptic shooter.
Players will continue the story as Skif, navigating a Zone filled with tension between the Duty and Freedom factions. Duty sees the Zone as a dangerous threat that must be destroyed, while Freedom wants to explore and harness it. The DLC expands on this conflict, offering choices that shape not just the events in the Zone but potentially far beyond.
“Cost of Hope” adds two new regions. The first is the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, abandoned for decades and now drawing stalkers back into its dangerous halls. The second is the Iron Forest, a maze-like area full of uncharted paths and hidden locations. Each region has its own hub, quests, and activities. Players will also find new weapons and gear to fight mutants, anomalies, and rival stalkers.
This expansion is the middle chapter of a “second trilogy” of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 story content. GSC Game World has promised a future DLC that will continue the narrative, completing the new story arc.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Microsoft Store. More details about the release date and features for “Cost of Hope” will be revealed in the coming months.
This DLC will be a must-play for fans who want more exploration, survival challenges, and the signature heavy atmosphere of the Zone.
