realme has confirmed that the realme 16 5G is coming to India soon. This will be a new addition to the 16 series, after the recent launch of the Pro models. The company is focusing on design and camera features, especially for younger users.
Realme and Flipkart have added dedicated landing pages to tease the phone.
The most notable feature of the phone is its unique camera design. realme is calling it India’s first “selfie mirror phone.” The camera module can be physically rotated using a twist mechanism. This is part of the company’s “Twist it. Own it. Trend it.” concept.
With this design, users can rotate the camera and use a small mirror placed on the back to preview their face. This allows users to take selfies using the rear camera instead of the front camera. Since rear cameras are usually better, this can result in higher quality selfies and group photos.
The twist system appears to have multiple steps. It allows proper alignment of the mirror for framing shots. It is designed to offer real-time preview, so users can capture and share photos quickly on social media.
Apart from the camera, realme is also focusing on design. The phone follows what the company calls an “Air Design”. It aims to offer a slim and comfortable feel in hand.
The design also includes a shiny and reflective finish. realme describes it as a luminous look with a premium texture. The phone has been shown in at least two colours, including a light blue or green shade and a darker blue or grey option.
