Microsoft has officially confirmed that the Xbox Games Showcase will return this year, along with a dedicated presentation for the next Gears of War game. So, it looks like a big month for Xbox fans
The Xbox Games Showcase 2026 is scheduled for June 7. The event will be livestreamed across platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook, making it easy for fans around the world to watch.
Microsoft says the event will include first gameplay reveals and major updates on upcoming titles. These will come from both Xbox’s first-party studios and third-party partners.
The showcase usually sets the tone for Xbox’s upcoming lineup, so expectations are naturally high. Fans can expect a mix of big franchise updates and some new announcements as well.
Right after the main event, Microsoft will host a separate Direct focused on Gears of War: E-Day. This game is being developed by The Coalition, with support from People Can Fly. Instead of continuing the story from Gears 5, the new title goes back in time.
It will explore the events of Emergence Day, when the Locust first appeared and attacked humanity. The game also brings back popular characters like Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago.
The Direct is expected to show new gameplay and share more details about the project. Since the game is already planned for a 2026 release, there is a good chance we may also get a confirmed launch date.
