Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 for global markets at MWC 2026 in Barcelona. Both phones were introduced in China last year, and they are now rolling out across Europe and other regions.
The global launch also marks a new phase in Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica. The company has moved from a joint research model to a deeper strategic co-creation model. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the first device developed under this upgraded collaboration.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes with a flat display, which is a first for the Ultra lineup. It keeps the design language of the 17 series but uses a cleaner and more linear look. At just 8.29mm thick, this is the thinnest Ultra phone Xiaomi has released so far.
It features a 6.9-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display with a 1 to 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3500 nits. The screen supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The biggest highlight is the camera system. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a triple rear camera setup developed with Leica. It includes a 1-inch main sensor, a 200MP telephoto camera with 75mm to 100mm true optical zoom, and an ultra-wide lens. The telephoto camera has Leica APO certification to reduce color fringing and improve sharpness. The phone also supports 8K video recording.
It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. It packs a 6000mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
Xiaomi is also offering two accessories. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit and Photography Kit Pro. The Pro version includes a larger 2000mAh battery, a zoom lever, a customizable dial, and can even work as a power bank.

It is powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset but comes with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage.
