WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to schedule messages in advance. This feature is currently being developed for the iOS version of the app.

This was initially reported by WABetaInfo, which tracks upcoming WhatsApp features. According to the report, users will be able to type a message and choose a specific date and time. The message will then be sent automatically at the selected time.

This feature can be very useful for birthday wishes, reminders, work updates, or important announcements that you do not want to forget.

Once a message is scheduled, WhatsApp will reportedly show it in a separate section inside the chat info screen. Users will be able to see how many messages are scheduled in that conversation.

There will also be options to manage them. Users can delete any scheduled message before it is sent. If a scheduled message is deleted, the recipient will not receive any notification. Since the message is removed before delivery, it will remain completely private.

Currently, iOS users can schedule messages using the Shortcuts app. However, that method is not very simple and requires extra setup.

With this upcoming built in feature, users will be able to schedule messages directly inside WhatsApp. The feature is expected to work in both individual chats and group chats.
