Publisher DreadXP and developer Lovely Hellplace have announced that Dread Delusion will launch on consoles this spring. The open-world RPG is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Dread Delusion was first released in Early Access on PC via Steam on June 15, 2022. The game later received its full PC release on May 14, 2024. After building a steady following on PC, the developers are now bringing the complete experience to console players.
The game is inspired by classic RPGs from the late 1990s and early 2000s, including King’s Field and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. It blends a retro 3D art style with traditional role-playing mechanics, focusing on exploration, player choice, and character freedom.
The console versions will include all updates added during the Early Access period on Steam. This means players will get access to features such as Hard Mode, airship customization, and the Creature Island content at launch across all supported platforms.
Dread Delusion offers a large open world filled with strange locations, multiple questlines, and characters to interact with. The game emphasizes choice-driven gameplay, where combat is not the only solution. Players can rely on dialogue, persuasion, lockpicking, forbidden knowledge, or spells to overcome challenges. Decisions made throughout the game affect how quests end and how the story unfolds.
