Xbox has started a new Free Play Days event to give players a chance to try several popular games without paying anything extra. This weekend’s lineup focuses on well-known indie titles and story-driven experiences. All the games are available only for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members can jump into Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, which tells a fresh story about a young Sherlock before he becomes the famous detective. The game focuses on investigation, choices, and a more personal side of Holmes that fans do not often see.
This War of Mine: Final Cut is also part of the offer. Developed by 11 bit studios, the game puts players in a dark, war-torn city where survival is the main goal. It mixes city management with emotional storytelling and does not shy away from difficult decisions.
Cult of the Lamb joins the list as well. Published by Devolver Digital, the game blends roguelike combat with base building. Players explore dangerous lands, defeat enemies, and slowly build a loyal cult that worships them as its leader.
Another game available this weekend is South Park: Snow Day. It is a 3D action-adventure set in the South Park universe. You play as the new kid once again, teaming up with familiar characters for chaotic battles and humor that fans of the show will recognize.
Any progress you make during Free Play Days will carry over if you decide to buy a game later. This makes it easy to continue right where you left off.
The Free Play Days titles and supported platforms are:
- Sherlock Holmes Chapter One on Xbox Series X and Series S
- South Park: Snow Day on Xbox Series X and Series S
- This War of Mine: Final Cut on Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, and PC
- Cult of the Lamb on Xbox Series X, Series S, and Xbox One
To find these games, head to the Xbox Store on your console. Open the Home section from the sidebar, go to Subscriptions, and look for the Free Play Days collection.
This Free Play Days event will end on Sunday, January 25, at 11:59 pm PT.
