Xiaomi has officially launched the REDMI Turbo 5 smartphone in China. The company introduced the device alongside the REDMI Turbo 5 Max, as promised. The Turbo 5 sits slightly below the Max model but still brings several high-end features.
The REDMI Turbo 5 comes with a metal frame and a glass back panel. Xiaomi says the phone uses a large rounded corner design, narrow bezels, and a balanced weight distribution to improve in-hand comfort. The device is available in Shadow Black, Light Sea Green, and Auspicious Cloud White color options. It also offers strong durability with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance ratings.
The phone features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 2560Hz instantaneous touch sampling. The device is powered by Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor built on a 4nm process. The chip is paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Xiaomi has added the same 3D ice-sealed circulating cold pump cooling system that is used in its flagship models. The phone also includes the new Rampage Engine, which handles integrated tuning of CPU, GPU, and memory frequencies for better performance.
The REDMI Turbo 5 runs Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 on top. It supports features like long-range wireless connectivity, Apple device connectivity, file transfers, and notification sharing.
The phone comes with a 50MP main rear camera using the IMX882 sensor. It supports OIS and EIS and can record videos up to 4K at 60fps. There is also an 8MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. On the front, the device features a 20MP camera with an OV20B sensor that supports 1080p video recording at 60fps.
