Along with the India launch of POCO M8 5G, POCO has also introduced POCO M8 Pro 5G for the global market. The phone has several similarities with the Redmi Note 15 Pro+, which was introduced in China last year. This model sits above the standard M8 and has noticeable upgrades in performance, battery, and display.
POCO M8 Pro 5G has a large 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate. It offers a peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits and supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. POCO has also included high-frequency PWM dimming along with DC dimming. The display also has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
The phone runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. It includes AI features such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
The POCO M8 Pro 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. POCO claims a major performance jump compared to the previous generation, with AnTuTu scores crossing the 1.06 million mark.. For the first time in the POCO M series, the company has added liquid cooling. The IceLoop Cooling System is designed to keep temperatures in check during gaming or heavy workloads. The phone also has up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 2.2 storage.
It has a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The phone can record up to 4K 30 fps video recording. For selfies, it has a 32MP camera, which also supports 1080p video recording.
It includes a stereo speaker setup, supports Dolby Atmos, and comes with Dual Gold Hi-Res Audio certification. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. Connectivity options are 5G SA / NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.4, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-,C and NFC.
The phone packs a 6500mAh battery with 100W fast charging.
It carries IP66+IP68+IP69+IP69K dust and water-resistant ratings. The phone measures 163.34×78.31×8.31mm and weighs 205.9g.

The phone has started rolling out globally, including in the UK and parts of Europe, from January 8. The India launch is expected sometime in late February.
