OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus Turbo 6 and OnePlus Turbo 6V smartphones in China. These are the first models under the new Turbo series. The company had already teased the launch earlier.

Both phones come with a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED display. The OnePlus Turbo 6 supports a 165Hz refresh rate, while the Turbo 6V offers up to 144Hz. The display supports both PWM dimming and DC dimming, which should help reduce eye strain during long usage.

OnePlus Turbo 6 series is available in Light Chaser Silver, Solo Black, and Wild Green colors. OnePlus says it uses a new micron-level silk replication process. This gives the back panel a transparent texture while improving toughness and drop resistance. The Turbo 6 features a clean back panel with a metal cube style camera module. It also has slightly curved edges and large rounded corners for a comfortable grip. Both phones come with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

The OnePlus Turbo 6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. OnePlus says it is the first phone in this price range to use this chip. The phone supports up to 165Hz gaming and has native 165 FPS support for several popular game categories like FPS, MOBA, fighting, and racing games. Titles such as Call of Duty Mobile can run at a full 165 FPS.

OnePlus has also added a custom Windspeed Edition chip developed with Qualcomm. It uses the Windspeed Gaming Kernel, which claims to reduce power consumption by 8 percent, lower kernel load by over 15 percent, and improve scheduler efficiency by more than 35 percent. The Turbo 6 also includes a Glacier cooling system, a dedicated e-sports Wi-Fi G1 chip, a Lingxi touch chip, and a flagship-level gyroscope to maintain stable performance during long gaming sessions.

OnePlus Turbo 6V

The OnePlus Turbo 6V is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. It supports up to 144Hz gaming and is aimed at users looking for strong performance at a lower price point.

The OnePlus Turbo 6 comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The Turbo 6V offers up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Both phones run Android 16 with ColorOS 16.

For cameras, the phones feature a 50MP main rear camera with OIS, a 2MP monochrome sensor, and a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls. You can record up to 4K 60 fps video recording from the rear camera and up to 1080p 30fps video recording from the front camera.

These phones include features like an in-display fingerprint sensor, and stereo speakers. Connectivity options include 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7 802.11 be, Bluetooth 6.0 (Turbo ) / 5.4 (Turbo 6V), Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, NFC, and USB Type-C.

Both phones pack a massive 9000mAh battery, which is the largest ever in the Turbo lineup. They support 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, bypass charging for gaming, and up to 27W wired reverse charging.

In China, the OnePlus Turbo 6V starts at 1899 yuan for the 8GB and 256GB variant. The OnePlus Turbo 6 starts at 2299 yuan for the 12GB and 256GB model. The phones are already available for order and will go on sale starting January 9. OnePlus is also offering discounts during the first sale period.

Based on current rumours, the OnePlus Turbo 6V is expected to launch in India later as part of the Nord CE series.
