Square Enix has announced that KILLER INN will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam on February 12. The game is being developed by Tactic Studios and published by Square Enix.
KILLER INN is a multiplayer murder mystery action game built around deception, combat, and deduction. The game places 24 players inside a castle for a single match, where each player is secretly assigned a role. Some players become “wolves,” whose goal is to eliminate others without revealing their identity. The remaining players are “lambs,” who must survive, uncover the killers, or find a way to escape.
Square Enix said it chose Early Access to involve players during the final stages of development. The company believes feedback from real players is essential for balancing and improving a competitive online multiplayer game.
During Early Access, KILLER INN will include optional in-game purchases. These will cover cosmetic items such as character skins, weapon skins, and a Premium Battle Pass. Square Enix has confirmed that paid content will not affect gameplay balance or provide combat advantages.
Unlike traditional murder mystery games, KILLER INN focuses heavily on action. Players can fight using guns, melee weapons, traps, and other items found around the map. Lambs are not limited to investigation alone and can directly confront suspected killers.
The game also features a clue system where players can examine crime scenes for evidence like blood, clothing, and fingerprints. These clues help narrow down who the wolves might be. Another key feature is Focus Mode, which allows players to detect footprints, sounds, and other environmental details.
KILLER INN supports proximity-based voice chat with 3D audio, making communication feel more realistic. Players can speak privately by entering rooms or use non-verbal options such as emotes if they prefer not to use voice chat.
The game can be played solo or in groups, with support for squads of different sizes. Each character has unique abilities, allowing for different playstyles and strategies.
KILLER INN will be available in Early Access on Steam starting February 12, with further updates planned based on player feedback.
