Hulu is officially ending support for its app on the Nintendo Switch. According to an updated support document, the Hulu app has already been removed from the Nintendo eShop, and full support for the application will end on February 5, 2026.
This means Nintendo Switch users will no longer be able to download the Hulu app. Those who already have it installed can continue using it for now, but only until the shutdown date. After February 5, 2026, the app is expected to stop working completely.
For many users, the Nintendo Switch has doubled as both a gaming console and a casual media device. Hulu was one of the few major streaming apps available on the platform, so this move clearly reduces the Switch’s value as an all-in-one entertainment device.
Nintendo has never positioned the Switch as a full media hub, but many users still relied on it for casual streaming. Hulu’s exit shows that third-party app support on the Switch has been shrinking, not growing.
Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video are already missing on the platform. With Hulu also leaving, the Switch feels more locked into being just a gaming console, even though the hardware is perfectly capable of handling streaming apps.
