HONOR has announced the HONOR Magic8 Pro Air in China. As the name suggests, it comes with a slim form factor. The phone is just 6.1mm thick and weighs 155 grams. This makes it the lightest flagship smartphone announced so far.
The phone features a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It comes with ultra-thin bezels measuring 1.08mm on all sides. The display supports HDR10+ and can reach up to 6000 nits peak HDR brightness. The display also includes HONOR Oasis eye protection features and Giant Rhino Glass protection to avoid scratches.
The device uses a unibody aerospace-grade aluminium frame with a strength rating of 530MPa. The back panel uses a special multi-layer coating process similar to those used in luxury cars, giving it a metallic satin finish. The phone is available in Fairy Purple, Light Orange, Feather White, and Shadow Black. It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
HONOR Magic8 Pro Air packs Octa-Core Dimensity 9500 3nm SoC with Arm Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 GPU. It comes with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage.
It has a triple rear camera setup. This includes a 50MP main camera with a large sensor and optical image stabilisation, a 50MP ultra wide camera with a 112 degree field of view, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3.2x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. On the front, there is a 50MP selfie camera. It uses AI zoom array flash with a 5-array structure covering the entire portrait focal length range from 1x to 6.4x. It also boasts CCD strobe portrait mode and most comprehensive AI flash functionality.
The phone has a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. It has dual stereo speakers and supports USB Type-C Audio.
Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7 802.11be, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS< GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC, A-GNSS, USB Type-C, and NFC. The phone packs a 5500mAh battery with 80W wired SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging Support.
