GreedFall II: The Dying World is set to leave Early Access and launch fully on March 12 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam. The announcement was made by publisher Nacon and developer Spiders.
The action RPG first entered Early Access on PC in September 2024. Since then, the developers have used player feedback to improve core systems, expand content, and refine combat. The March release will mark the game’s first appearance on consoles and its complete story launch.
GreedFall II is a prequel to the original GreedFall. The story takes place three years before the events of the first game. This time, players do not take on the role of De Sardet. Instead, you play as a native of Teer Fradee who is forcibly taken from their island to the continent of Gacane.
Gacane is an old world shaped by war, political tension, and the deadly Malichor plague. As a displaced outsider, your goal is to regain your freedom and stop a growing campaign of conquest that threatens both the continent and your homeland. The game allows players to approach situations through diplomacy, strategy, stealth, or direct combat.
Players will explore new regions, including Olima, known as the city of stars, and the coastal lands of Uxantis. Each area is controlled by powerful factions with their own agendas. Choices made during conversations and missions can shift alliances and change how the story unfolds.
Character creation is also a big part in GreedFall II. You can recruit companions, complete their personal quests, and shape relationships that may turn into friendships, rivalries, or romances. Players can also directly control companions during combat, offering more tactical flexibility.
During Early Access, the game received mixed feedback. Players praised the world-building and narrative depth but pointed out technical issues and balance problems. Spiders has addressed many of these concerns through updates, including new areas, companions, and combat improvements.
With its full release, GreedFall II aims to deliver a deeper and more reactive RPG experience.
