Forza Horizon 6 is coming on May 19, 2026, for Xbox Series consoles and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. PlayStation 5 players will get it later in the year. The game will also be available on Game Pass.

Unlike previous Horizon games, Forza Horizon 6 starts with you as a tourist chasing your dream of attending the Horizon Festival in Japan. You are not a pro driver yet. The game is designed for both car fans and anyone who loves exploration. Your goal is to discover Japan, meet friends, and slowly work your way into the festival.

The new setting lets players explore Japan’s mountains, neon cities, and industrial docklands, all crafted to capture the feel of the country, not an exact replica. Landmarks like Shibuya Crossing, Ginko Avenue, and Tokyo Tower are included, but the map is also built for the fast, fun gameplay Horizon fans love.

You are joined by two friends: Jordy, a motorsports enthusiast, and Mei, an expert Japanese car builder. The game also introduces a Collection Journal, letting you track points of interest, collect mementos, and progress in the festival. You can photograph landmarks, murals, or your cars, making the journal a personal record of your adventure.

There are eight unlockable houses across Japan, which double as garages and fast travel points. Horizon 6 also introduces The Estate, inspired by real-world Japanese abandoned properties called Akiya. Here, players can customize and build freely, paying in-game credits earned through races, exploration, and other activities.

Horizon 6 adds Car Meets, inspired by the famous Daikoku parking area. These are social hubs where players can meet others, check out their cars, copy paint jobs, and participate in informal gatherings. Three permanent locations host Car Meets, blending community and gameplay naturally.

At launch, the game has around 550 cars. The cover cars are the 2025 GR GT Prototype and 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser, both designed with real-world accuracy in partnership with Toyota. The GR GT Prototype appears in the early game, giving players a taste of off-roading, racing, and high-speed thrills.

Forza Horizon 6 is about freedom, fun, and exploration. Players can drive anywhere, collect cars, customize homes, and experience Japanese culture. Whether you are racing in cities, mountains, or rural roads, the game balances realistic sights with high-octane gameplay.
