Bungie has officially announced the release date for Marathon, its upcoming team-based extraction shooter. The game will launch on March 5 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC via Steam. Marathon is now available for pre-order, and Bungie has revealed details of all available editions, including pricing and bonuses.
The Standard Edition is priced at $39.99, £34.99, or €39.99. It includes access to all gameplay updates that will roll out over time, such as new maps, Runner shells, and live events. Players who pre-order will also receive several cosmetic items like weapon styles, charms, stickers, and profile visuals. In addition, Bungie is offering Destiny 2 bonuses linked to the player’s Bungie.net account, including an Exotic Ghost shell, ship, and Sparrow.
The Deluxe Edition costs $59.99, £44.99, or €59.99. This version includes a Premium Rewards Pass voucher, 200 SILK Rewards Pass tokens, exclusive weapon cosmetics, and multiple Runner shell styles under the Midnight Decay set.
Bungie is also offering a Marathon Collector’s Edition, which is exclusive to the Bungie Store. This edition focuses on physical collectibles and a premium unboxing experience inspired by the game’s lore. It includes a 1/6-scale Thief Runner Shell statue, a collectible WEAVEworm miniature, embroidered patch, postcards, digital rewards, and more.
Alongside the release and editions announcement, Bungie confirmed the English-language voice cast for Marathon. The lineup features a large number of well-known voice actors from games and film, including Roger Clark, Neil Newbon, Ben Starr, Erica Lindbeck, Elias Toufexis, Dave Fennoy, and many others.
Marathon is set in the lost colony of Tau Ceti IV and marks Bungie’s return to the franchise, reimagined as a modern extraction shooter. Players take on the role of Runners, cybernetic mercenaries who work in teams of three. The goal is to scavenge valuable loot, fight rival teams and hostile forces, and extract safely. Any loot you survive with carries over into future runs, adding long-term progression and risk.
Each Runner has unique abilities, and players can customize their loadouts using weapons, implants, and equipment found during matches. Bungie says the game is designed to be accessible for new players while still offering high-risk zones and ranked play for more competitive audiences.
Bungie also emphasized its commitment to fair play. The studio confirmed ongoing investment in anti-cheat systems and dedicated servers to keep matches competitive and secure.
