Epic Games Store has rolled out its twelfth mystery free game as part of its holiday giveaway event. Today’s free title is SKALD: Against the Black Priory. PC gamers can claim the game for free and keep it permanently if they add it to their library before the next giveaway goes live on December 29.
SKALD: Against the Black Priory is developed by High North Studios and was released in 2024. At first glance, the game looks like a classic retro RPG thanks to its 8-bit art style and old-school presentation. However, beneath the retro visuals, it offers several modern features that make gameplay smoother and more accessible.
The game is a party-based role-playing experience set in a dark fantasy world filled with horror elements. It draws inspiration from classic tabletop RPGs, with a strong focus on storytelling, player choices, and exploration.
