realme has already confirmed that the realme 16 Pro series will launch in India on January 6, 2026. Ahead of the launch, the company has now shared detailed camera information for the upcoming lineup. The series will be led by the realme 16 Pro+, which realme is positioning as a camera-focused smartphone with flagship level features.
The main highlight of the realme 16 Pro series is its 200MP imaging system. realme calls the new lineup the “200MP Portrait Master” and says the focus is on detailed photography and better zoom performance. The 200MP camera is not limited to just one model, as both the realme 16 Pro and realme 16 Pro+ will feature this high resolution sensor.
The realme 16 Pro+ comes with a 200MP main camera using the Samsung HP5 sensor. It has a 1 by 1.56 inch sensor size and an f 1.8 aperture. The phone also includes a 3.5x telephoto lens powered by the S5KJN5 sensor. According to realme, this makes it the only phone in its segment to offer a 200MP main camera along with a dedicated telephoto lens. The camera system supports a wide focal range starting from 0.6x and going up to 120x zoom.

Both models in the series support full pixel auto zoom and lossless zoom at 1x and 2x. This means users can expect detailed images at common zoom levels without a drop in image quality, regardless of which model they choose.
realme is introducing the new LumaColor IMAGE system on the realme 16 Pro+. This imaging algorithm has been developed in collaboration with TÜV Rheinland at the LumaColor IMAGE Lab. The system focuses on improving skin tone accuracy, creating natural depth of field using optical fusion blur, and enhancing lighting by reconstructing shadows and highlights in portrait shots.
For group photos and fast-moving subjects, the series uses HyperRAW and InstantSnap technologies. realme has also added AI-based features like AI Perfect Shot and AI Ultra Clarity. These tools are designed to fix common issues such as closed eyes, motion blur, and edge distortion.
The realme 16 Pro+ supports 4K FullFocal HDR video recording across multiple focal lengths, including 1x, 2x, 3.5x, and 7x. The phone supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second on both the rear and front cameras. A new MainTrack feature helps keep moving subjects in focus, while 4K Motion Photo allows users to turn short video clips into live photos.
realme has also introduced new creative and editing tools with this series. Vibe Master Mode offers 21 preset color tones and gives users manual control over settings like saturation, contrast, and sharpness. For post-processing, the phones come with AI Edit Genie powered by Gemini 2.5 Flash Image. This includes features such as AI LightMe and StyleMe for lighting and visual effects, as well as AI Instant Clip, which can automatically create short videos using global and India-specific templates.
More details about the realme 16 Pro series are expected to be revealed in the coming days. After launch, the smartphones will be available for purchase through Flipkart, realme.com, and offline retail stores across India.
