OnePlus has taken the wraps off the next step in its smartphone lineup. The company confirmed the OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V will arrive in China on January 8, 2026. These will be the first phones in the new Turbo series. This new smartphone series will focus on offering long battery life and strong real-world performance.

Both phones have now been shown in official teasers and live photos. So, we already know a lot about these phones. One of the headline features of both the Turbo 6 and 6V is a massive 9,000 mAh battery with 80 W wired fast charging.

OnePlus Turbo 6

The Turbo 6 is expected to run a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip. This is a mid-to-high end Qualcomm processor that has already appeared in benchmark tests for the series. The slightly lower-tier Turbo 6V will reportedly use the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, which should still offer solid performance for everyday tasks. The Turbo 6 is expected in multiple memory options, from 12 GB RAM to 16 GB, and storage up to 512 GB.

Both phones are tipped to feature large 1.5K resolution screens. The Turbo 6 may get a 165 Hz refresh rate, which would make everything on screen feel very smooth, while the Turbo 6V may settle for a 144 Hz panel.

Official images show the phones with a square camera island on the back. The Turbo 6 will come in at least three colours, including a variant with a 3D holographic pattern on the back, while the Turbo 6V has its own distinct palette. The Turbo 6V will likely start with 8 GB of RAM in its base version. Both models are said to have a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP secondary camera, and a 32 MP selfie shooter.

Both phones should ship with Android 16 and the latest OnePlus interface. They are also expected to include features found on other recent OnePlus devices, such as in-display fingerprint sensors and flat screens with solid viewing areas. The Turbo 6 may carry IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings.

The new Turbo series appears to attract users who want both gaming performance and long life without paying flagship prices. There are also strong rumours that the Turbo series could arrive outside China under the Nord 6 and Nord CE 6 names. I am also curious to see the form factor of the phone that packs such a large battery.

The January 8 event in China will bring final details, and it will be interesting to see how the series performs in price and real-world use when it arrives.
