Motorola has officially launched the Motorola Edge 70 in India. This new smartphone joins the Edge series and focuses on a premium design, strong performance, and useful AI features. The company had already teased the launch earlier, and the phone is now available at a starting price of Rs. 29,999.

The Motorola Edge 70 features a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen supports 10-bit colors and can reach up to 4500 nits of peak brightness. This makes the display suitable for outdoor use. Motorola has also added Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection to improve durability. The display experience is clearly one of the strong points of this phone.

The phone is just 5.99mm thick, which makes it one of the slimmest smartphones in its segment. Despite the slim body, it has a metal frame and feels premium in the hand. The phone also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. Motorola has added MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability as well, which adds extra confidence for daily use.

The Motorola Edge 70 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, which is built on a 4nm process. It is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Motorola also offers up to 16GB of additional virtual RAM for multitasking. The phone includes VC cooling to manage heat during heavy usage such as gaming or video recording.

The phone comes with a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization and a 50MP ultra-wide camera that also supports autofocus and macro shots. On the front, there is a 50MP camera for selfies and video calls. Both the rear and front cameras support up to 4K video recording at 60fps, which is good to see at this price point.

Motorola is also focusing heavily on software and AI this time. The Edge 70 runs Android 16 out of the box. The company has promised three Android OS updates and four years of security updates. There is a dedicated AI key on the phone that gives quick access to moto AI 2.0.

Moto AI brings several features that are designed to be practical. The Next Move feature offers contextual suggestions based on what is on your screen. Creative users get tools like AI Image Studio, Sketch to Image, Style Sync, Text to Sticker, and avatar creation. There are also features like Catch Me Up 2.0, Pay Attention for live transcriptions, AI Playlist Studio, Global Search, and Auto Screenshot Blur. Motorola has also added cross-device features through This On That.

The Remember This and Recall features work like a smart memory vault, while Perplexity integration helps with instant exploration and planning. Users can choose between motoAI, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, and Google Gemini, depending on their preference.

In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 5G SA and NSA with 16 5G bands, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and USB Type-C. It also includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support for better audio.

Even with such a slim design, Motorola has managed to fit a 5000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery inside the Edge 70. The phone supports 68W TurboPower fast charging and 15W wireless charging. This combination should be more than enough for a full day of use for most users.

The Motorola Edge 70 is available in PANTONE Lily Pad, PANTONE Gadget Grey, and PANTONE Bronze Green color options. All variants come with a textured finish on the back, which adds to the premium look and feel. The phone is priced at Rs. 29,999 for the single 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model.

The smartphone will go on sale starting December 23rd through Flipkart, motorola.in, and offline retail stores. As part of the launch offers, buyers can get a Rs. 1,000 bank discount, which makes the deal slightly more attractive.
