Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has received a new free update, and it is a special one. Publisher Kepler Interactive and developer Sandfall Interactive have released the “Thank You” update to celebrate the game’s big success at The Game Awards 2025, where it won Game of the Year.
The update adds fresh content and features for both new and returning players. One of the biggest highlights is a brand-new playable area called Verso’s Drafts. This new zone feels like a storybook adventure and explores the early memories of Verso. Players will meet festive Gestrals, discover unusual locations, and face a dark and powerful new threat along the way.
The update introduces new tracks composed by Lorien Testard, the same composer behind the game’s award-winning soundtrack. These new songs are now available on popular music streaming platforms as well.
For players who are deep into the game, the Endless Tower now offers tougher boss battles. These challenges are designed for late-game players and reward those who win with new Pictos, outfits, and powerful gear.
Another major addition is the Photo Mode. Players can now pause the action and capture their favourite moments from battles and story scenes.
The update also expands language support. New localizations have been added for Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian. With this, the game now supports a total of 19 languages.
The game now supports FSR 4, including AMD temporal upscaling and frame generation. This improves image clarity and delivers smoother performance on supported hardware. There are also several quality-of-life changes and performance improvements across all platforms, including handheld PCs.
Along with Game of the Year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 also won Best Game Direction and Best Narrative at The Game Awards 2025, making it one of the most celebrated games of the year.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It is also included with Xbox Game Pass.
