Riot Games has confirmed that Caitlyn, one of the most popular characters from League of Legends and Arcane, is the next champion coming to its upcoming fighting game 2XKO. The announcement was made during The Game Awards 2025 with a new trailer. Caitlyn will arrive in January 2026, which is also when the game launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Riot has not shared the exact day yet, but the release window is set for next month.
Riot did not show gameplay for Caitlyn, but fans already have a good idea of how she might work. In League of Legends, Caitlyn is a long-range marksman who controls space with traps and precise shots. It is likely that her 2XKO kit will follow the same style, focusing on zoning, ranged pressure, and setups using her traps and net. If Riot keeps her sniper identity intact, she could become one of the strongest keep-away characters in the roster.
With Caitlyn joining, 2XKO will have 12 champions at launch. The lineup currently includes: Ahri, Blitzcrank, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, Jinx, Vi, Warwick, Yasuo, and Teemo. Teemo was the most recent addition, released on October 7th.
Riot has already said that 2XKO will receive five new characters throughout 2026. With Caitlyn being the first, four more fighters are expected to arrive next year, likely spread across seasonal updates.
