Bethesda has released yet another version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and this time it is for the new Nintendo Switch 2. The Anniversary Edition was already available on the original Switch, but the new release comes with better performance and a few extra features that make the upgrade more appealing.
Just like other platforms, the Anniversary Edition on Switch 2 includes the full Skyrim experience. You get the base game along with the Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire expansions. Bethesda is also adding hundreds of Creation Club items at no extra cost. These items bring new quests, weapons, armor, spells, dungeons, and several other additions that expand the game further.
The Switch 2 version has clear improvements. It comes with better resolution, DLSS anti-aliasing, faster load times, and smoother performance. Bethesda has even added motion controls and mouse controls for players who want more flexibility. Nintendo fans also get a small bonus. Items inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are included. Players can find the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and Champion’s Tunic hidden across the world.
Players who already own the game on Nintendo’s older console will get a free upgrade to the Switch 2 version if they have the full Anniversary Edition on the original Switch. Players who only have the base game can upgrade to the Anniversary Edition on Switch 2 for $19.99.
