Ubisoft has not announced a remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag yet, but a new rating suggests the project is very real. The Pan European Game Information (PEGI) board briefly listed a game called Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on its website. The listing was removed later, but the name was visible long enough to spark fresh excitement.
Rumours about this remake have been around since 2023. Multiple reports over the past two years have mentioned that Ubisoft is bringing back the popular pirate-themed entry. Now the PEGI listing is the strongest hint about the game.
Black Flag is one of the most loved Assassin’s Creed games. It introduced Edward Kenway and took the series into the open seas with ship battles, exploration, and a strong pirate storyline. The naval combat system became very popular among Assassin’s Creed fans.
Reports say the remake will bring new RPG-style elements seen in recent Assassin’s Creed titles. Some cut content from the original game may also return. However, the modern-day sections are expected to be removed.
The original Assassin’s Creed Black Flag was released in 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U, and later arrived on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Ubisoft also released a Switch version a few years ago.
Not only the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft is also planning to release around ten Assassin’s Creed games before 2030. These would include a mix of mainline titles, remakes, spin-offs, and mobile games.
