It looks like Xbox players will finally get a chance to explore the eerie fog of Silent Hill. A new ESRB listing has hinted that the Silent Hill 2 remake could soon be released for Xbox Series X|S. The listing was updated on October 31 and includes a new Xbox certification. It suggests that PlayStation’s year-long exclusivity period has ended.
Konami or Bloober Team has not confirmed anything yet, but this update is a strong sign that an official announcement could be coming soon.
The Silent Hill 2 remake, developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami, was launched last year for PlayStation 5 and PC. It received positive reviews for staying true to the original while offering improved visuals and a more cinematic approach. The game recreated the emotional and psychological depth of the 2001 classic and went on to sell over 2 million copies within a year.
It also won multiple awards for its storytelling and design, proving that Silent Hill still holds a special place among horror fans. However, it was never released for Xbox.
If this turns out to be true, it will be a big deal for the Xbox community. The Silent Hill series has always been a part of horror gaming history, but recent years have been quiet for the franchise. The success of the remake brought hope that Konami was finally ready to revive the Silent Hill universe.
